An ecofact is a naturally made object found at an archaeological site. Unlike artifacts, which are made or changed by people, ecofacts are made by nature. Things like seeds, bones, or shells are all examples of ecofacts! Archaeologists study ecofacts to learn more about the environments where people lived and how they interacted with them.
