Many people think that archaeologists study dinosaurs—but that’s a myth! Archaeologists study the human past. We try to understand people using the things they leave behind. Usually these people lived before us, but some archaeologists study what was left behind by people who are still living. The scientists who study dinosaurs are called paleontologists, and they work in different places from archaeologists, because people and dinosaurs didn’t live at the same time.
